Should I get a Kindle 2?
I read a lot and computer screen glare is killing my eyes. I have read Word documents, pages texts and books online. Do you suggest a Kindle, do you have a Kindle 2 and what is your experience with it?
Yes, the Kindle 2 is the way forward. The screen is designed for reading which simulates the experience of reading books. It is very different compared to reading on the computer. If you are choosing between The Kindle from Amazon and Barnes and Nobles corner, I looked into it a bit so you can give some opinions. On the official website of B & N, this is how the corner compared with the Kindle: From http://www.barnesandnoble.com/nook/compare/ Barnes and Noble page is only mentioning the advantage of the corner on the Kindle, I'll try say more about the benefit of the Kindle 2 in the corner: - No Internet browser to the Nook. So even with Wi-Fi, you can only use it to buy the book. You can not do a search in Google, Wikipedia, check email, etc, like what to do with the Kindle. - The Amazon Kindle has wireless International 3G covers more than 100 countries. So even if you are in places like the UK or Australia, you can access the Internet with the Kindle free of charge. The Rincon has wireless in the U.S. only, and is limited to using only buy books - The Kindle is available outside the U.S. (Sending to 176 countries) while the only ship in the U.S. corner at this time. - The Kindle has text to speech function, so you can try an ebook, and audio books. This function is not present in the corner. - Amazon is already doing some change after the Nook is announced (still more than a month to make it available). They lowered the price of its Kindle even more international. And they are going to release a PC software that can read Kindle books. One thing to keep in mind is that, at first sight one might think that the Nook can read ebooks with touch screen color. But in fact the color touch screen is just a small display below the screen eink grayscale, and it seems that only used to navigate through the roof of the ebooks. In my opinion, it's a tie between the Kindle and the Barnes and Noble. But if you can travel and enjoy reading during the trip, you should go for the Kindle insurance. On the other hand, I hope that the Kindle will come up soon with some strategies, such as improving of its lending book function. The Kindle is the greatest player in the market for eReader right now, and I think it made great efforts to maintain its position.
